As a (Senior) Process Development Engineer (m/f/d), you will play a key role in advancing competitive silicon-based discrete power technologies, driving innovation from process development to industrial manufacturing.Working in a cross-functional environment with product, production and quality engineering teams, you will develop and industrialize robust wafer fabrication processes that enable cost-efficient, scalable and high-performance semiconductor products.You will act as a process architect within development projects, translating product requirements into manufacturable process concepts and ensuring successful transfer into stable, automotive-qualified production.
This is your new jobDefine and integrate robust, scalable wafer fabrication flows by combining and optimizing unit processesOwn and drive end-to-end process development from concept to stable high-volume manufacturing within cross-functional projectsEnsure manufacturability and industrial readiness, including alignment with production, quality and automotive qualification requirementsOptimize and balance process performance (yield, cost, quality, robustness) to meet competitive product and manufacturing targetsAct as key technical interface between development and production, driving cross-functional alignment and sustainable solutionsBenchmark competitor technologies and derive actionable insights for technology developmentBuild and leverage expert networks to support technology development and continuously deepen process know-howThis is youMaster’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Semiconductor Physics or a related fieldSeveral years of relevant experience in semiconductor process development are preferredSolid understanding of semiconductor devices and industrial wafer fabrication processes, preferably for discrete power devicesHands-on experience in wafer processing and related equipmentStrong analytical skills and ability to solve complex technical problems in a structured and result-oriented wayAbility to work effectively in cross-functional and international teamsStrong sense of ownership and accountability for technical outcomesGood organizational and planning skills with a structured working styleFluent in English and German, both written and spokenThis is your department and colleaguesYou will be part of a multidisciplinary and international development team working closely with experts from product, process, production and quality engineering.The team is responsible for developing and industrializing semiconductor technologies from concept to high-volume manufacturing. A strong collaboration with operations ensures that development results are successfully transferred into stable, efficient and scalable production processes.In this environment, process development engineers take on a central role in bridging product requirements and manufacturing capabilities, ensuring that innovative concepts are translated into robust and competitive production solutions.
