Our client, a leading global sportswear brand, is seeking a Key Account Manager – Germany to take ownership of some of the most strategic retail partnerships in the region.
This is a critical commercial role, responsible for driving growth, deepening strategic relationships, and elevating the brand presence across both pure players and omnichannel retailers. The ideal candidate is a digital-savvy, data-informed, and relationship-oriented professional with strong experience in the apparel, footwear, and lifestyle industry.
Key Responsibilities
Account Ownership & Growth
* Lead the strategic development and daily management of top-tier accounts.
* Own the P&L and commercial performance for assigned accounts, driving revenue growth, profitability, and market share expansion.
* Build and execute account-specific joint business plans aligned with internal targets and brand objectives.
Strategic Planning & Execution
* Develop and deliver seasonal go-to-market strategies per account, in partnership with cross-functional teams (brand, product, merchandising, finance).
* Ensure effective sell-in and sell-out strategies, backed by data, trends, and channel-specific insights.
* Align with internal stakeholders on inventory, supply chain, and promotional planning to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Retail & Digital Excellence
* Champion the brand’s presence across e-commerce and retail environments, ensuring premium positioning and storytelling across digital platforms and store networks.
* Collaborate closely with Digital, Marketing, and Brand teams to bring campaigns and product stories to life across partner platforms.
* Monitor competitive activity and category trends to inform account strategy and drive ongoing improvement.
Internal Collaboration & Representation
* Serve as the main point of contact and internal advocate for assigned accounts, driving alignment across business functions.
* Represent account needs and opportunities in internal planning meetings, product reviews, and marketing briefings.
* Ensure compliance with trade terms, commercial agreements, and partner expectations.
Candidate Profile
Professional Experience
* 3–6+ years in key account management or commercial roles within the sporting goods, fashion, or consumer goods industries.
* Proven success in managing pure players and omnichannel retailers in Germany.
Key Skills
* Deep understanding of the German retail and e-commerce landscape.
* Strong analytical thinking and data interpretation skills, with an ability to turn insights into action.
* Skilled negotiator and relationship builder who can operate with autonomy and influence across all levels.
* High level of organization, adaptability, and precision in a fast-moving commercial environment.
* Familiarity with commercial tools (e.g. SAP, Salesforce, BI tools) is a plus.
