Responsibilities
1. Provide functional, company-wide expertise in specific topics of toxicology and regulation to ensure business success
2. Develop scientific strategies to defend the product portfolio of Evonik Industries AG
3. Identify trends to further develop expertise and support strategic planning
4. Establish targeted networking within internal and external committees, expert groups, and working groups
5. Mentor other experts and ensure knowledge transfer through training programs
6. Take responsibility for the development and implementation of effective, discipline-specific processes for harmonization and standardization
Requirements
7. Completed degree in veterinary or human medicine with a specialization in toxicology/pathology, alternatively a degree in a scientific field such as chemistry, biology, or a related discipline, ideally with a PhD
8. Proven ability to represent strategically in national and international expert committees (e.g., VCI, Cefic), ideally with a strong network of relevant stakeholders in chemicals legislation
9. In-depth knowledge of chemicals legislation, legislative processes in the EU, and their impact on products and markets
10. Extensive, including practical, experience in the field of (eco)toxicology, ideally as a board-certified toxicologist or equivalent
11. Advanced knowledge of animal studies and strong analytical skills in dealing with complex animal models; knowledge in epidemiology is an advantage
12. Experience in leading and developing experts within the discipline
13. Business-fluent German and English skills; additional language skills are an advantage
14. Strong communication and teamwork skills as well as a high level of problem-solving orientation
