Imec is seeking an experienced Regional Managing Director to lead our operations in Baden-Württemberg.
Role Overview
The automotive industry is evolving rapidly with advanced chiplet technology supporting autonomous driving and connected vehicles. Imec and Baden-Württemberg are launching a joint project to support the automotive sector in deploying automotive chiplets into manufacturing. Based at the Innovation Park AI in Heilbronn, the new Advanced Chip Design Accelerator (ACDA) will push technological boundaries and accelerate automotive innovations, leveraging imec’s expertise in semiconductor technology and packaging to develop smarter, safer, and more efficient vehicles.
The Regional Managing Director will oversee activities in Baden-Württemberg, including:
* Leading the startup and growth of the Baden-Württemberg organization aligned with long-term corporate strategy.
* Driving innovation through research expertise and technical vision.
* Achieving local KPIs and contributing to imec’s global goals.
* Managing daily operations and project execution in coordination with stakeholders.
* Fostering an environment of creativity and innovation in research programs.
* Reporting to the VP Automotive.
* Collaborating with senior leadership to set strategic objectives and ensure resource availability.
Ideal candidates will have an entrepreneurial mindset and a proven track record in leading multi-functional teams and complex programs within the semiconductor or microelectronics sectors.
Requirements include:
* Over 10 years of experience in a fabless, semiconductor manufacturing, or R&D environment.
* More than 5 years managing a mid-sized international site in the semiconductor or microelectronics industry.
* Experience managing successful European and German funded research projects.
* A strong network of industry and academic contacts.
* Knowledge of automotive chip design or sensing is advantageous.
* Up-to-date industry and technology awareness.
* Excellent communication skills in German and English.
