Associate Principal (Life Sciences practice) Charles River Associates – Munich, Germany Overview Charles River Associates (CRA) is a leading global consulting firm that provides independent economic and financial analysis to support litigation, business strategy, and governmental policy decisions. The Life Sciences practice helps pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostic and medical device companies achieve optimal performance across product innovation, commercialization, organization, and reputation. This role is based in our Munich office and offers a strategic, commercially minded Associate Principal position focused on Brand & Commercial Strategy or Pricing & Market Access. Responsibilities Lead and manage medium to large‑size projects from start to finish, ensuring high quality, profitability and client satisfaction. Provide intellectual leadership and high‑level input to clients and delivery teams, advising on optimal commercial, price and/or market‑access strategies by understanding payer, HCP and patient needs globally. Oversee and synthesize primary and secondary research efforts to develop robust conclusions, implications and actionable recommendations. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, support proposal development, and contribute to thought‑leadership activities to enhance CRA’s market presence. Serve as a key point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships through effective communication and excellent delivery. Recruit, develop and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture and ensuring knowledge transfer across the practice. Qualifications Advanced degree (e.g., PhD, MA/MS, MBA) or equivalent work experience. At least 6+ years of extensive experience consulting to life‑sciences companies on brand & commercial strategy issues and/or global pricing and market‑access strategy development. Proven management and business‑development skills within life sciences. Demonstrated ability to synthesize and apply a variety of analytic & research techniques to develop client recommendations. Recognized ability to present, facilitate, and/or provide expert guidance on key life‑science industry or functional issues. Experience contributing to professional development of junior staff. Ability to identify new business opportunities and support conversion into project work. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German. Familiarity with a professional‑service culture and ability to relate to people at all levels of the organization. Ability to work in our Munich office 3 days a week, combined with necessary client travel.
