An innovative Quantum Computing start-up in Munich are looking to bolster their team with a Quantum Chemistry Lead Engineer.
Responsibilities:
* Direct and manage internal research initiatives and external partnerships in the field of quantum chemistry.
* Develop, test, and evaluate quantum chemistry algorithms on simulators and quantum hardware, targeting both current and future quantum processors.
* Create and refine hardware–software co-design workflows in collaboration with hardware engineering teams.
* Propel business development by sourcing new industry collaborations and funding prospects, leading grant proposals, and representing the company in key strategic engagements.
* Maintain cutting-edge expertise in quantum chemistry algorithms and neutral atom quantum technology advancements.
Requirements:
* PhD in Physics or Theoretical Chemistry, with at least 3 years of postdoctoral or industry experience.
* Strong background in quantum physics and quantum computing, with proven expertise in DFT and DMFT methods.
* Demonstrated leadership in interdisciplinary teams, fostering innovation and guiding research efforts.
* Eligible to work in Germany or the EU, willing to relocate, and fluent in English.
* Additional assets include experience in agile workflows (e.g., Scrum), knowledge of quantum error correction, and familiarity with tensor networks.
