Do you enjoy ensuring accuracy, compliance, and smooth payroll operations in a fast-paced environment? A fast-growing international retail company is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join its HR team in Germany. This is an opportunity to coordinate payroll activities in partnership with an external payroll provider, supporting a growing organization with efficient and compliant processes.

Your Mission

As Payroll Specialist, you will act as the key point of contact between the company and the external payroll agency. You will ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payroll processing, validate data, handle reporting, and provide expert support to managers and employees on payroll-related topics.

Key Responsibilities

* Coordinate the monthly payroll process with the external payroll provider.
* Ensure accurate and timely submission of payroll data, including new hires, terminations, absences, and variable compensation.
* Validate payroll calculations and reports provided by the external agency.
* Ensure full compliance with German tax, labor, and social security regulations.
* Act as a trusted contact for employees and managers regarding payroll, compensation, and benefits queries.
* Manage payroll-related audits and reporting in collaboration with the HR and Finance teams.
* Propose and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
* Ensure accurate and confidential handling of employee data in line with GDPR requirements.

What We’re Looking For

* Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll coordination, preferably in an international or retail environment.
* Strong knowledge of German payroll regulations, tax, and social security law.
* Previous experience working with external payroll providers is highly preferred.
* Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
* Fluent in German (mandatory, C2 level) and good command of English (minimum B2).
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll systems.
* Collaborative, solution-oriented, and able to work independently.
* Availiability to work in a hybrid model.
