About our client
Our client is a portfoliopany in Testing, Inspection & Certification (TIC) and Engineering for sustainable buildings, backed by a leading mid-market private equity firm. The firm has a clear investment thesis and a proven playbook centred around consolidation and operational enhancement in this fragmented, regulation-driven market. They are now looking to appoint a Buy-in CEO to lead the German part of the business through its inception and guide it through the next stage of growth, including a significant buy-and-build strategy.
This is a unique opportunity for amercially driven and operationally capable CEO to take on ownership, partner closely with an experienced investor. What the job involves
1. Execute on a proven playbook roadmap to grow the business
2. Lead M&A activity from origination through to integration, with support and strong backing from the PE sponsor
3. Build and develop a high-performing leadership team to support scale and transformation
4. Drive operational excellence, improving systems, processes, service delivery and profitability
5. Represent the German part of the business externally and internally, building strong relationships with customers, regulators, advisors and stakeholders
6. Report to the board and sponsor, maintaining transparency and alignment with the value creation plan
7. Invest alongside the private equity sponsor and act as a true owner-operator
Who we are looking for
8. Proven experience as CEO in a PE-backed or entrepreneurial business in an adjacent B2B services sector. Alternatively, actively involved investment professional looking to step up into a general management role
9. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of strong experience in areas relating to certification and engineering of sustainable buildings
10. Track record of successful M&A execution and integration, preferably in a buy-and-build context
11. Operationally hands-on, capable of building structure and discipline in a growing business
12. Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to scale a business sustainably
13. Strategic thinker, able to persuade through evidence-based conviction
14. Excellent interpersonal skills with fluent English and German language skills
