The Role
You’ll take full ownership of the engineering organisation (~25 engineers via Heads of) and be responsible for:
Running and evolving high-volume live systems
Driving architecture, scalability, and infrastructure decisions
Working closely with teams to guide technical direction and challenge decisions where needed
Elevating engineering standards, delivery, and reliability
Building a high-calibre team through strong hiring and leadership
Establishing robust, scalable, and secure systems (ISO readiness)
This is a hands‑on leadership role — not a step away from tech. You will stay close enough to the systems and teams to influence architecture meaningfully.

Experience owning live production systems at scale
Proven track record leading transformation within engineering organisations
Proven track record building and scaling high‑performing teams
Strong hiring instincts — you know what “great” looks like
Ability to engage deeply in architectural discussions and guide technical decisions
Experience operating in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments
You take full ownership
