Discover impactful work: As a Field Service Engineer you are responsible for the proper operation of the systems according to their specifications and for the customer satisfaction. A day in the life:u200b Perform on-site and remote troubleshooting, repair and installation of our sophisticated Electron Microscopes and Surface Analysis (XPS) systems Provide on-site training for customers related to basic operation and routine maintenance of the system Keep track and maintain local spare part's inventory Dispatch third-party service providers for on-site work and follow up to ensure problems were resolved to the customeru2019s satisfaction Actively monitor the status of customer contracts. Track and schedule on-site PM visit(s). Ensure that all documentation related to service support activity is completed accurately and submitted on a timely basis. This includes Field Service Reports, Service Work Orders and Quotes. Keys to success: Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field (engineering or physics) is required. Graduates must have knowledge of Electron Microscope. A full SEM / Dual Beam is equivalent to the BS degree. 2 years of service experience in a related scientific, technical and / or customer-facing role is expected. Excellent interpersonal skills for a positive and effective communication with customers, colleagues and superiors Strong proficiency in instrument systems technology to include electronics, (precise) mechanics, physics, and software technology Experience in troubleshooting and repairing of ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems is an advantage Literate in Windows software environments You have good abstraction skills and are characterized by perseverance and flexibility There is a will to succeed, and you can learn from your mistakes you are Fluent in English and preferably also German Ability and desire to travel routinely, often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems or to support other field service personnel Ability to travel internationally up to 30% depending on place of residence Driving license B required What we offer: A job with an innovative, forward-looking employer.
