We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Contract Manager to lead the execution and lifecycle management of key project contracts for a major grid connection and transmission infrastructure programme in the Far East. This is a high-profile and strategically critical role, requiring deep expertise in contract and commercial management combined with a robust background in electrical engineering and large-scale energy infrastructure projects.
* Lead the contract negotiation, finalisation, and execution of EPC and OEM contracts, with a primary focus on grid connection infrastructure, including substations, overhead lines, HVDC/HVAC systems, and associated works.
* Manage and administer contracts throughout the project lifecycle, including variations, claims, extensions of time, and performance monitoring.
* Serve as the primary interface between project delivery teams, legal advisors, and client representatives on all contractual matters.
* Monitor contractor performance, compliance, and deliverables against agreed KPIs and contractual obligations.
* Provide proactive commercial insight and risk mitigation strategies related to contract performance, delivery challenges, and external stakeholder changes.
* Oversee the procurement, tendering, and pre-award evaluation processes in alignment with project milestones and local regulatory frameworks.
* Manage contract changes, claim assessments, and dispute resolution procedures in close coordination with legal and technical teams.
* Contribute to overall project governance by preparing contract status reports, forecasting cost impacts, and supporting executive decision-making.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related technical discipline.
* Minimum 15 years' experience in contract management and project execution, with at least 10 years in senior-level roles on large-scale electrical transmission, substation, or grid connection projects.
* Demonstrable experience negotiating and managing EPC contracts, FIDIC or NEC forms of contract, and multi-party JV or public-private frameworks.
* Strong technical understanding of grid connection infrastructure, including HV transmission systems, substations, and grid integration technologies.
* Proven track record of managing complex contract portfolios across cross-cultural, international project environments, ideally in Asia or the Far East.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and leadership skills.
* Fluent in English (spoken and written); knowledge of a local language is an advantage.
