Job description
At KIT, we are pursuing the development of luminescent core-shell nanocrystals for applications in photovoltaics, for example as spectral conversion layers. Within the scope of this project, you will have the following tasks:
1. Synthesis of luminescent core-shell nanomaterials (oxides and fluorides)
2. Optical characterisation of samples
3. Publication of research results
4. Establishing contact with interested cooperation partners from industry. This is within the framework of the Solar TAP project, a Helmholtz initiative to accelerate the use of novel printed layers for photovoltaic technologies.
Starting date
01.04.2026
Personal qualification
You have:
5. A successfully completed doctorate in inorganic chemistry or materials science or a comparable qualification
6. Extensive experience:
- in the synthesis of core-shell nanocrystals with fluoride and/or oxide materials,
- in material characterisation (XRD, ideally hands-on experience with TEM),
- in optical characterisation (stationary and time-resolved photoluminescence, PLQY measurements)
7. Very good written and spoken German and English skills
