We at Kidde Deugra Brandschutzsysteme GmbH, based in Ratingen near Düsseldorf, have the mission as part of Collins Aerospace to protect human lives through innovative fire protection and fire suppression systems. Our company designs and manufactures automatic smoke detectors, fire alarm and extinguishing systems for a wide range of military and civilian vehicles. Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on Finance Manager to lead the financial operations of our Fire Protection Systems business in Germany. This role covers legal entity P&L, leadership of a small finance team, and close collaboration with our US-based finance organization. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with strategic thinking and the ability to operate effectively in a global matrix environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Financial Leadership
1. Develop strategic planning for enterprise and organizational development initiatives
2. Create and drive strategic financial plans aligned with business priorities
3. Prioritize financial resources to meet operational objectives, including economic research, depreciation, working capital, and investment analysis
4. Conduct financial and expense comparisons through balance sheet and income statement analysis
Financial Management & Compliance
5. Ensure all financial transactions comply with US GAAP and local HGB
6. Oversee payroll and all tax-related matters (Income Tax, Trade Tax, VAT)
7. Lead planning, budgeting, and expense management processes
8. Review and approve recommendations for financial planning and control, providing relevant fiscal insights to the executive management team
9. Ensure compliance with internal procedures, policies, and controls
Investment & Audit Oversight
10. Oversee the analysis and evaluation of potential investments
11. Lead internal and external audit processes and act as the primary contact for auditors
Stakeholder & Executive Interaction
12. Interact with executive-level internal and external stakeholders, including US-based leadership
13. Provide clear, actionable financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
Team Leadership
14. Lead workforce planning, development, and performance management for a team of three employees
15. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth
Requirements
16. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
17. 7-10 years of minimum professional experience
18. Experience in a global matrix organization with an integrated business model, ideally within a US company
19. Experience in a publicly reporting environment (US GAAP & HGB)
20. Demonstrated leadership skills
21. Fluency in German and English
22. Basic knowledge of German Pricing Law
23. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Business Central (ERP) preferable or similar ERP systems
