Become part of our Constructor Community in the north of Bremen as a Research Associate (m/f/d) Marine Trace Element Geochemistry (Full-time 38,5 hours/week, limited for 3 years) About the framework: In 2021, two tests on the mining of polymetallic nodules were carried out in the Clarion Clipperton Zone in the Pacific Ocean. As part of the European research project MiningImpact3, the impacts of these mining tests on trace element geochemical processes in surface sediments and near-bottom seawater up to 6 years after the disturbance will be investigated, complemented with studies on the bioavailability of trace metals during mining activities and an evaluation of suitable indicators for ecotoxicological risks. The work to be carried out will be spatially divided between the Constructor University in Bremen (marine geochemistry working group) and the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources in Hannover (marine geology and resource exploration working group), whereby the recruitment will take place at the Constructor University.
