Overview
We’re looking for a Mechanical Commissioning Lead to support a large data centre build in Frankfurt. You don’t need to already be in a lead position, what matters is confidence, organisation, and the ability to take ownership on site. If you can run meetings without sweating and keep commissioning moving, you’re the type we want.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate and oversee all mechanical commissioning activities across the project.
• Commission and review critical data-centre mechanical systems, including:
– Chilled water systems (CHW)
– CRAC/CRAH units
– Cooling towers or dry coolers
– Pumps, valves, pipework flushing & testing
– HVAC and ventilation systems
– Pressurisation, leak testing, air/water balancing
• Manage the Red Tag / Green Tag process to ensure systems are inspected, defects tracked, and issues resolved before sign-off.
• Lead commissioning meetings, track progress, and drive close-out actions.
• Interface daily with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to keep commissioning aligned with programme and specifications.
• Review commissioning documentation (plans, method statements, test sheets).
• Support Integrated Systems Testing (IST) when required.
Requirements
• Strong mechanical commissioning experience on data centre projects (open to different seniority levels).
• Hands-on experience with Red/Green tagging and defect management.
• Solid understanding of data-centre cooling and HVAC systems.
• Confident communicator able to run meetings and manage multiple stakeholders.
• Proactive, organised, and able to push commissioning forward on site.
