Your Responsibilities We are looking for an ambitious and financially talented professional to join our team as Financial Controller in Cologne. In this role you will assist with the oversight of the accounting, tax, treasury and certain corporate secretarial functions of real estate portfolios and legal entities across Europe. Additionally, you will gain exposure to other departments within the company such as acquisitions, capital markets, fund management, and property management. This role is initially offered as a two-year fixed term contract to cover parental leave, with the potential for a permanent position afterward. Finance and Accounting: Coordinate compliance of various accounting, tax and treasury matters with third-party service providers to ensure timely and accurate routine financial reporting Review annual audited financial statements of the European portfolio under IFRS or local GAAP Assist with the coordination of the auditing processes across the portfolio Coordinate with the portfolio and asset management teams on routine lender and investor reporting as well as budgeting processes Support the European management team on various operational and administrative matters Acquisitions Support: Support Acquisition’s team with financial due diligence (review of financial statements, coordination of outsourcing providers) on new acquisitions Assist with onboarding of service providers (e.g. property managers, accountants, etc.) regarding the setup of accounting, treasury, and reporting standards Your Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Tax or related vocational training required; Chartered Accountant (CA) or other related certifications a plus Work Experience: 3-7 years’ experience in real estate accounting or related field with at least 2 years of experience preparing and/or reviewing financial statements Language Proficiency: Exceptional written and verbal communication in German and English.
