Ambivalent Neighborhoods between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam in Historical and Contemporary Constellations," which brings together Goethe University Frankfurt, Philipps University of Marburg and Justus Liebig University Giessen in interdisciplinary collaboration with international and national partners. The project "The influence of religious neighborhoods on the acculturation of migrants in the context of secularization and social polarization" (PI: Prof. Antje Röder) aims to operationalize the concept of "neighborhoods" for quantitative religious research and to further develop it theoretically. Empirically, it links survey data at the individual level with relevant contextual variables in order to examine their effects at the local and national levels.

This is a project position that is not limited in duration in accordance with § 2 sec. MSc-degree or equivalent in sociology, political science or a comparable social science degree, as well as a doctorate in sociology, political science or a comparable subject
Research interest and experience in the field of quantitative migration, religion and/or neighborhood research
Very good knowledge of quantitative methods (especially analysis of complex secondary data sets)
Experience with or potential for publications in international peer-reviewed journals
Very good knowledge of English
