RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Research on the molecular mechanisms of synapse formation and neurotransmission Investigate the role of synaptic organizer molecules, particularly neurexins Analyze defects of these molecules in mutant mouse models of neurodevelopmental disorders Conduct experiments to study synaptic function and structure in vivo and in vitro Apply state-of-the-art methods to analyze synaptic mechanisms and neuronal structure
REQUIREMENTS:
* Above-average Master’s degree in a relevant field Strong motivation for basic science research Beneficial: prior experimental experience with the nervous system Beneficial: skills in biochemistry, cell culture, electrophysiology, or microscopic techniques
