The Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) is responsible for delivery of best practice systems and problem resolution on all data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure (UPS, MV electrical systems, generators, cooling systems etc.) within the data center environment in a specific location.The role would suit someone who enjoys working in a 'hands on' capacity on Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) infrastructure such as diesel generators, switchgear, UPS's, PDU's, AHU's, fire detection systems and building automation systems. You will report to the Data Center Engineering Operations Manager.AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Own the safety initiatives and projects to foster strong safety culture.• ENGINEERING & FACILITY OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCEo Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)o Supervise contractor or Engineering Operations Technicians to ensure proper operation and maintenance of all facility equipment.o Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians and assist inYour day will be dynamic and hands-on, involving direct interaction with sophisticated electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
