Warehouse Operations Leadership Role">
The role of a Warehouse Operations Manager is to lead the entire operational team in the warehouse. You are ultimately responsible for warehouse operations, health and safety, and quality control. As a leader, you coach and guide your team in achieving daily objectives while monitoring performance against customer key performance indicators (KPIs). Your goal is to continually improve current processes and ensure the provision of reliable and efficient services to our customers at the lowest possible cost.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage professional staff, including entry-level and/or supervisors.
* Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
* Handle most situations independently, guided by policies, procedures, and the business plan, but seek advice on complex issues.
* Apply subject matter knowledge to solve common business issues.
* Operate within established practices and procedures, escalating nonroutine problems.
* Continuously search for improvements in existing operational processes and systems.
* Ensure a smooth handover of tasks and optimize communication between teams during shift transfers.
* Update the Warehouse Management system with production results, system faults, and stock deviations, providing necessary reports to site managers.
* Experience in a functional area, applying knowledge of theories, methods, techniques, and processes.
* Understand the overall nature of the business and interdependencies between own and other functions.
* Develop people through coaching and mentoring to build organizational capability, talent, and bench strength.
Requirements:
* At least 7 years of experience in contract logistics, particularly in customer-facing roles.
* 5+ years of experience managing and leading warehouse operations teams.
* Ability to work in an international matrix organization with excellent stakeholder management capabilities.
* Lean thinking and continuous improvement mindset.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
* Strong personality traits: passionate, holistic view, courageous, effective in diverse cultural settings, impact-driven, optimistic, and stress-resistant.
* Process-oriented approach to work and attention to detail.
* Resilient team player with a high level of commitment, able to work under minimal supervision.
* Passion for operational excellence, driven by data and process standardization, with ability to analyze and translate into action plans and assurance of 'on-time and in-full' delivery and embedding.
* Passion for people and team development.
Language Skills:
* Native German level.
* Excellent written and verbal English skills.
