Overview
My client is seeking an experienced Sales Director to lead the commercial growth of its Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) portfolio across Germany. This role will take ownership of sales strategy, revenue generation, and key customer relationships, driving the sale of BESS solutions to utilities, developers, IPPs, and other market stakeholders.
The position will begin as a remote role, with a planned transition to a hybrid working model based in Hamburg.
Responsibilities
* Define and execute the sales strategy for BESS solutions in the German market
* Drive revenue growth through direct sales of battery storage equipment and integrated solutions
* Build and manage senior-level relationships with utilities, developers, IPPs, and strategic partners
* Lead complex commercial negotiations and contract execution
* Collaborate closely with internal technical, project development, and legal teams to deliver tailored customer solutions
* Work with OEMs and technology partners to align product offerings with market needs
* Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory developments related to energy storage
* Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasting
* Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and client meetings
Ideal Criteria
* Proven experience in a senior commercial or sales leadership role within Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
* Strong track record of selling energy storage solutions within the renewables or power sector
* Experience working with OEMs, utilities, developers, and IPPs
* Excellent commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to operate autonomously in a remote environment and build a market presence
* Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to closing deals
