The opportunity
You will be part of a team of installation experts, together being responsible for the installation and testing of electrical and mechanical equipment procured and delivered by Hitachi Energy. To perform the works under your responsibility, you and the rest of the installation team will manage subcontractors performing the works.
You as an Installation Supervisor will be part of a team of installation experts, reporting to an Installation Manager, together being responsible for the installation and testing of electrical and mechanical equipment procured and delivered by Hitachi Energy. To perform the works under your responsibility, you and the rest of the installation team will manage subcontractors performing the works. You will support the Installation Manager and the other Installation Supervisors to plan, coordinate and manage the Hitachi Energy responsibilities in the project to assure project targets and milestones related to safety, quality, time schedule and budget are met.
This role is site based, with travel included. The first project assignment would be based in Germany in Bergrheinfeld, Bavaria which is part of the Suedlink DC4 project, for approximately 24 months. After this project is completed, we have future projects in Germany and there are also global opportunities. Therefore, any candidate applying for this role, would need to be willing to travel.
How you'll make an impact
1. Your main mission will be to supervise installations on site (both AC and DC) in high voltage installation global projects Manage and guide subcontractors to ensure completion of all installation activities efficiently and cost-effectively, in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements
2. Contribute to planning and implementation of installation activities
3. Coordinate the installation activities with the Installation Manager and/or Site Manager
4. Prepare, plan, execute cable pulling, glanding and termination. Incl. low – high voltage power cables, control cables and fibers
5. Quality control and testing of cables. Check results against project specifications and global standards like IEEE and IEC
6. Prepare, plan, execute installation of control cubicles, junction boxes. Incl. internal wiring works and terminations
7. You will also coordinate with engineering office to assure needed documentation is used at site during execution and provide mark-ups for as-built project documentation
8. Maintain good relationships to internal and external suppliers

Your background
10. You have a technical education, preferably with a degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering. Or have acquired previous experience in electrical- or mechanical installation work in large scale projects
11. You have at least 4-6 years of work experience within relevant field
12. Experience of installation supervision is advantageous
13. Previous experience from HVDC, FACTS or Substation projects are preferred
14. Ability to read and understand single line diagrams, circuit diagrams, technical manuals and drawings
15. Proficiency in English & German is must, written and spoken alike, whereas additional languages are a plus
