We seek an experienced tax manager for our finance team in Düsseldorf.
Job Description
The successful candidate will oversee the fiscal management of our companies, focusing on our German entities. They will work closely with internal departments and external partners, providing expert advice on fiscal matters.
Main Responsibilities
* Act as primary point of contact for fiscal inquiries in the region, providing ongoing counsel to the company and collaborating with the finance team and external consultants.
* Ensure complete compliance with all fiscal obligations, including VAT returns, Intrastat declarations, payment verification, review of corporate tax returns prepared by external service providers, processing of other relevant tax matters: local taxes, energy taxes, etc.
* Prepare monthly income tax allocations and other fiscal entries for reporting purposes.
* Active participation in the preparation and submission of the annual financial statement, including shareholder resolutions and legally required publications.
* Support external and internal auditors in fiscal matters.
* Monitor transfer pricing documentation, reporting, and control, as well as reviewing business models and supporting M&A transactions.
* Function as primary point of contact for tax audits and manage communication with tax authorities.
* Supporting projects to improve tax strategy and processes in collaboration with the finance teams and the European Tax Director.
Requirements
* Completed university degree in economics or law with a focus on taxation, or equivalent qualification.
* At least 7 years of professional experience in the field of taxation in an international environment, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
* Good knowledge of German and international tax legislation, with proven experience in the area of transfer pricing.
* Experience with M&A transactions is highly desirable.
* Excellent German and English language skills (at least C1 level).
* Familiarity with Excel and experience working with SAP.
* Good knowledge in the areas of energy taxes, customs matters, and fiscal reporting instruments (e.g., ELSTER).
