Designed as a high-volume, data-intensive enterprise application, it combines advanced analytics, intelligent automation, and data-driven algorithms to enable real-time decisions, high reliability, and seamless integration into our IT landscape.

Your Tasks
* As an Engineering Lead, you will play a central role in shaping the technical direction and operational excellence of our supply chain automation platform.
* Taking full ownership of the architecture, quality, and scalability of a key system that drives automated replenishment and logistics for one of Europe’s largest retail groups.
* Leading a cross-functional, agile development team—providing technical direction, coaching developers, and ensuring efficient collaboration across domains.
* Driving technical and architectural decisions based on solid engineering principles, data insights, and a deep understanding of business requirements.
* Acting as a sparring partner for product management and business stakeholders. Translating complex needs into technically feasible and strategically aligned solutions.
* Challenging existing processes and proactively driving improvements in our development, deployment, and operational workflows.
* Identifying and introducing new technologies, patterns, and practices that help us stay ahead in a high-load, data-intensive environment.
* Representing the team in cross-departmental coordination, ensuring smooth collaboration with platform, infrastructure, and data teams.
* Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and open feedback within your team and the wider developer community.
Your Profile
* You bring extensive experience (5+ years) in software engineering and proven leadership skills—ideally having led technical teams or held a senior architectural role.
* You are fluent in Kotlin or Java for backend development and bring strong experience in modern frontend frameworks such as Vue or React.
* You have solid knowledge of cloud-native architectures, container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code.
* You’re proficient with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and ideally understand data-driven architectures.
* You follow strong engineering practices: automated testing, clean code, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and performance monitoring are a given for you.
* Having a strong understanding of software architecture patterns, security best practices, and data-driven system design is a plus.
* You are proficient in English and are open to learning German if not already familiar.
* You hold a university degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience in complex software environments.
* You are passionate about mentoring, creating high-performing teams, and driving innovation with purpose and pragmatism.
