Your tasks
- independently carries out productions of established synthesis processes
- plans organic syntheses of complex molecular structures within R and D projects, especially in the field of nucleic acid chemistry and oligonucleotide chemistry, and carries them out in the laboratory including isolation, purification (especially RP-HPLC and IEX) and characterization for provision for test development
- observes and implements internal and external guidelines, including with regard to laboratory work and the processes and products to be developed for transfers to production in the course of commercialization projects with regard to producibility, sustainability, occupational safety, health protection, environmental protection, labor law, confidentiality, quality assurance and quality management
- documents and interprets the generated R and D results and presents them to the relevant committees within; supports the creation of product development documents and specification documents (e.g. SOPs, manufacturing instructions, safety data sheets) as well as possible publications or patent applications
- Independently develops new solutions outside of known approaches and supports the development of new concepts and ideas
- monitors the field of modern, preparative organic chemistry and nucleic acid chemistry, particularly in the context of diagnostic applications, through contacts with external and internal experts, studying literature and patents, as well as attending congresses if necessary, and presents the state of the art in relevant committees
- Ensures cooperation and close networking in global project teams as well as with external partners in the context of R and D projects on the basis of agreements made and builds up a network of know-how carriers
- Represents the superior team lead at project meetings and supports the superior team lead in project management tasks and in the technical supervision of employees; takes on general tasks in the department, such as the maintenance and repair of equipment, if necessary
Your profile
Must Have:
- Degree in organic chemistry, PhD possible but not mandatory or Master's degree with first professional experience, in the field of organic chemistry
- at the same time with good knowledge of nucleic acid chemistry, excellent chemical knowledge, basic knowledge of biochemistry
- good knowledge of occupational safety, environmental protection and quality management
- attach great importance to good teamwork in order to find the best solutions
- very good communication and mentoring skills
- very good German and good English skills

- ideally expert with experience in purification of (oligo-)nucleotides by IEX
