HR Manager - People and Culture

The opportunity
We’re hiring a hands on, highly structured HR Manager to take ownership of day to day people operations and employment law matters within an international technology environment. This role sits at the core of People and Culture, acting as the go to contact for employees and leaders across all operational HR and labour law topics.
The position is deliberately operational and close to the business. You’ll be responsible for ensuring HR processes run smoothly, compliantly, and professionally, while supporting a positive, people focused culture as the organisation continues to scale.
You’ll be working within the immersive technology and games adjacent space, supporting teams building XR and interactive systems used globally. It’s a fast moving, technically interesting environment where people, creativity, and complex production schedules intersect, making HR both highly visible and genuinely impactful.

What you’ll be doing
Operational HR and people administration
• Managing the full employee lifecycle from onboarding through to exit
• Maintaining employee data across HR systems and digital and physical personnel files
• Drafting, updating, and managing employment contracts, amendments, additional agreements, and references
• Managing absences, time tracking, overtime, allowances, and sickness records including statutory checks
• Responding to employee queries related to contracts, working time, leave, and HR policies
• Preparing and coordinating HR documentation for payroll, pensions, parental leave, and special cases
Employment law and compliance
• Handling day to day employment law matters independently
• Advising managers and employees on labour law topics such as contract interpretation, warnings, terminations, parental leave, and maternity protection
• Preparing and implementing labour law measures in coordination with leadership and external legal advisors
• Ensuring compliance with labour law, data protection regulations, and internal policies
• Monitoring changes in employment law and translating them into clear internal actions
• Creating, maintaining, and evolving HR policies, internal guidelines, and agreements
Recruitment and onboarding
• Creating and maintaining job adverts
• Coordinating external recruitment partners and headhunters
• Screening applications and organising and conducting interviews
• Managing end to end onboarding including system setup, documentation, and internal coordination
• Delivering first day onboarding sessions and welcome presentations
• Running structured People and Culture check ins after the first four weeks
People development and retention
• Supporting annual feedback and development cycles with line managers
• Assisting with individual development planning
• Contributing to retention initiatives and employee surveys
HR operations, tools, and reporting
• Working confidently with HR and collaboration tools such as Personio, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, and Outlook
• Maintaining HR workflows, templates, and documentation
• Producing regular HR reports including weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting
• Supporting internal communications, newsletters, and presentations
• Assisting with audits, certifications, health and safety topics, and internal reviews
International and special topics
• Managing A1 certificates and supporting employee secondments
• Assisting with residence and work permits including coordination with authorities
• Ensuring accurate time tracking for business travel
What we’re looking for
• A degree in HR management, business, law, or a comparable qualification
• Several years of experience in an operational HR or People and Culture role with a strong employment law focus
• Very solid knowledge of German labour law
• Proven experience handling employment law topics independently
• Confidence using HR systems, ideally Personio
• A highly structured, precise, and discreet working style
• Strong communication and advisory skills
• Native level German and very strong English
Nice to have
• Experience working in an international HR environment
• Experience collaborating with external employment law firms
• Exposure to payroll preparation and HR reporting
• Hands on experience with Jira and Confluence
