Your role
1. Manage the environmental sample hub facility.
2. Oversee incoming environmental samples.
3. Register samples from previous and ongoing sampling campaigns to the sample collection using in-house lab management software.
4. Coordinate samples distribution and shipment to collaborators.
5. Engage in the preparation and sampling of future field expeditions and post samples processing.
6. Be responsible for expedition related documentation management.
7. Organise and support hands on training for collaborators, volunteers and students in workshops and on the field.
8. Develop reusable training material, e.g. videos, would be desirable.

You have
15. A Master degree or a PhD in Biology, Biogeography or related environmental sciences.
16. Experience in coordination of environmental sample storage and registration.
17. Expertise in field work planning.
18. Field work experience (ideally on soil, sediment and/or water collection)
19. Experience in preparation of teaching material (e.g. handbooks, videos, etc)
20. Flexibility to travel.
21. Experience in training personnel and knowledge transfer.
22. A strong team spirit, good communication and organisational skills.
23. High adaptability and problem solving skills.
24. Solid driving skills.
25. Fluency in English is compulsory.
26. Good knowledge of the German language is a plus.
