Job Title: Hazardous Materials Program Director
We are seeking an experienced leader to oversee and advance global programs focusing on industrial hygiene, hazardous materials management, and business continuity.
This strategic role drives compliance, process safety, and emergency preparedness across all international sites to ensure sustainable and resilient operations within the pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead global HSE governance, process and plant safety, compliance, and hazardous substances management across all international sites.
* Manage and advance the Business Continuity Management (BCM) program, ensuring strategic emergency preparedness and integration with KRITIS (critical infrastructure) requirements.
* Act as primary HSE liaison for insurance matters and authorities, optimizing risk and cost through targeted action plans.
* Develop, maintain, and audit global standards for hazardous substances handling, storage, disposal, and industrial hygiene.
* Provide global leadership in process and plant safety, including ATEX safety guidelines and ongoing compliance audits.
* Oversee global HSE audits, standardizing processes, managing findings, and addressing systemic risks.
* Guide and evaluate major global HSE projects to ensure strategic alignment and resource allocation.
* Lead and support site and regional HSE managers worldwide with clear objectives and dotted-line leadership.
* Drive development and global rollout of the STADA HSE program aligned with corporate goals and site-specific needs.
* Foster internal networks and global exchange formats to strengthen HSE culture and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
* Degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Occupational Safety, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
* Minimum 10 years of experience in comparable leadership roles, preferably in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
* Demonstrated leadership in hazardous material management, working together with authorities and leading audits.
* Recognized HSE certifications (e.g., FaSi, OSHA) are a significant advantage as well as knowledge of ISO 45001 and 14001 standards.
* Experience in improving and managing BCM would be beneficial.
