Connected cognitive systems drive innovation in many sectors, including mobility, healthcare, and automation in industry. Fraunhofer IKS is conducting research to ensure that these applications are reliable and verifiably safe. Reliably detecting persons is crucial for many applications and processes, like in self-driving cars or to prevent factory workers from being injured by heavy machines. In our group we offer a working student position / internship in the field of dependable person detection in industrial applications. Your task is to investigate how reliably different object detection algorithms can recognize and locate humans, particularly in the vicinity of robots and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs). You study computer science, electrical engineering or a similar subject.
