Senior Mechanism Engineer (m/f/d)
Your Tasks
1. Define and analyze technical specifications and develop design concepts for demanding mechanisms and control systems to be operated in space environment
2. Coordinate design, development, integration and testing activities with other engineering disciplines and technical managers (Optics, Mechanical, Structural, Thermal and Electrical Engineering)
3. Lead and/or support internal and subcontractor meetings, offers, cost estimates and internal department development projects
4. Continuously monitor compliance to technical requirements, budgets and specifications throughout the development process
5. Take part in planning of manufacturing, assembly and testing (MAIT) of mechanisms and mechatronic systems
6. As a key person of the department, anticipate and, if necessary, find solutions and remedy non-compliant disruptions or unexpected problems in all ongoing development projects of the department
7. Advance and develop design processes and tools as well as core competencies and activation of technologies in the department
8. Be responsible for the flow-down of technical requirements and budgets from higher-level specifications to mechatronic subsystems
9. Support the definition and specification of interfaces, generate interface control documents
10. Select mechanical and mechatronic components (actuators, sensors etc.)
11. Evaluate external subcontractor proposals and identify, select and monitor subcontractors
12. Report concisely to the customer and to the project team
Your Qualifications
13. University degree in mechanical engineering, robotics, aerospace engineering or comparable qualification
14. Long-time of professional experience in the field of space mechanisms
15. Sound knowledge in the field of mechanisms technologies with expertise in conceptual mechanisms modelling and simulation
16. Expertise in Vacuum- and/or Space-Tribology
17. Experience with relevant design and quality guidelines and standards (ECSS-E/Q)
18. Experience in management and monitoring of subcontractors
19. Very good communication skills and conflict resolution skills
20. Well-structured way of working
21. Good knowledge in technical leadership of employees
