Head of independent financial advisors

Your mission

As Head of Independent Financial Advisors (IFA) you carry full entrepreneurial responsibility for the entire IFA distribution channel. You are responsible for the IFA business line (new business, client retention and recurring revenues growth, market share, contribution margin) and are the single point of accountability for everything that touches independent advisors. As a member of the Group Executive Board, you co-shape the overall strategy of the group while aggressively growing one of the most important and profitable distribution channels.


Your role and responsibility

In this position you will be responsible for:

1. Full Ownership – IFA Channel

* Deliver ambitious annual and multi-year targets for ARR growth, revenue, margin, and market-share growth in the IFA segment.
* Develop and execute the 3-year strategic plan and annual budget for the IFA business line together with the CRO and Group CFO.

2. Go-to-Market Strategy & Channel Leadership

* Define and continuously refine the value proposition, service model, pricing, and commercial policy specifically for independent financial advisors.
* Position the firm as the preferred partner for top-tier IFAs.
* Own pricing, rebate structures, platform access, and partnership programs.

3. Sales Leadership & Key Relationship Management

* Lead a team of IFA sales specialists and client success managers covering the largest and fastest-growing IFA networks, platforms, and individual practices.
* Personally own the relationships with the most important IFA firms and platforms.
* Set quotas, incentives, and recognition programs that drive the desired behaviour.

4. Product, Platform & Service Excellence

* Work hand-in-hand with Product Management to design and prioritize the offering and its fit to the needs of independent advisors

5. Marketing, Events & Thought Leadership

* Own the IFA-specific marketing budget and calendar (flagship events, roadshows, webinars, digital marketing, awards).
* Position yourself and the firm as the thought leader in the independent advice space.

6. Group Executive Board Contribution

* Actively participate in all Group Executive Board decisions and bring the “voice of the independent advisor” into every strategic discussion.
* Collaborate closely with the Head of Asset Management and the Head of Wealth Management to avoid internal competition and exploit synergies.

7. Process Discipline & Data Quality

* Role-model and enforce the group-wide sales process, CRM standards, and forecasting discipline within the entire IFA organization.
* Fully support the Sales Operations Manager in maintaining one consistent methodology across the group.


Your experience and profile

We are looking for:

* 12–20 years of progressive experience in wealth management / asset management with a clear focus on the IFA / independent advice channel.
* Proven, verifiable P&L responsibility for an IFA business line with ≥ €1M revenues.
* Deep personal network among the most influential independent advisors, platforms, and family offices in the core markets.
* Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing IFA sales teams across multiple countries.
* Strong understanding of IFA economics, regulatory environment (MiFID II, etc.), platform dynamics, and digital tools.
* Outstanding communication and presentation skills – comfortable on stage at large IFA events and in private dinners with top advisors.
* University degree (master’s/MBA preferred); additional qualifications such as CFA, CIIA, Certified Financial Planner, or similar are a plus.
* Fluent in English + German; additional languages advantageous.

* Collaborative at Group Executive Board level, competitive when protecting IFA interests
