Head of Manufacturing & Maintenance (m/f/d)
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. As a Site Leadership Team Member, the function leads a cross-functional team of Process Experts, Operators, and Technicians, ensuring efficient manufacturing processes (~ 70 FTE in total)
2. Accountable for oversight of both non‑sterile and sterile production and aseptic fill operations, owning the operation of production and infrastructure assets and guaranteeing robust maintenance and lifecycle assurance
3. Responsibility for the delivery of reliable facility operations, technical services, utilities, maintenance programs, and site infrastructure.
4. Drive cross‑functional coordination for product portfolio expansion and global technology transfers, aligning R&D, manufacturing, quality and commercial teams
5. Ensure all processes are completed on time, continuously improving in quality and efficiency, and strictly adhering to GMPs, SOPs, HSE, and applicable guidelines.
6. Optimize operational efficiency through careful planning, continuous improvement programs, and efficient practices. Support Factory of the Future and Product Supply System initiatives to increase automation and digitalization capabilities.
7. The position actively engages in the strategic design and ongoing development of both the site and the area, implementing improvements and measuring impact.
8. Act as a VACC Leader to develop and guide teams through structured coaching, mentoring and performance enablement.
WHO YOU ARE
9. A degree in life science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
10. Extensive experience in production / engineering in the pharmaceutical industry
11. Experience in Quality, formulation processes and/ or tech transfers is a plus
12. Strong understanding of SHE, GMP and compliant engineering environments.
13. Proven experience leading large teams,
14. Proven experience in process improvement, operational excellence, and change management.
15. Demonstrated people leadership and team management skills, experience working effectively in complex matrix organizations
16. Proficiency in English and German
