The Opportunity

As part of the international field‑based Medical Affairs organisation, the Medical Science Affairs Liaison Manager will play a key role in the therapeutic area of rare genetic disorders of obesity. This role serves as a trusted scientific partner to external experts, clinical decision‑makers, and internal stakeholders.

The Medical Science Affairs Liaison Manager will provide high‑quality scientific exchange, support clinical research activities, and contribute to the development and execution of the local Medical Affairs strategy. This is a field‑based role with significant scientific depth, strategic impact, and cross‑functional collaboration.


Key Responsibilities

* Act as the Scientific Affairs Manager for the assigned territory in Southwest Germany.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of the local Medical Affairs plan as part of the international Medical Affairs team.
* Serve as the primary scientific point of contact for German external experts, ensuring consistent, compliant, and high‑quality scientific engagement.
* Provide peer‑to‑peer scientific exchange with disease experts, sharing up‑to‑date clinical and product information relevant to rare genetic disorders of obesity.
* Map patient journeys, diagnostic pathways, and therapeutic patterns; build strong relationships with key stakeholders in the rare disease ecosystem.
* Support the establishment of local genetic testing initiatives in collaboration with HCPs and specialised networks.
* Collaborate closely with Global Clinical Development and Operations on investigator interactions, advisory boards, and clinical trial support.
* Assist in identifying and educating referral sites and investigators to support clinical trial enrolment.
* Contribute to scientific communication planning, including interpretation of emerging data and review of scientific materials.
* Ensure medical and scientific accuracy and compliance across communication platforms, medical information resources, and educational materials.
* Provide input into internal training initiatives to strengthen scientific knowledge across teams.
* Communicate the medical value of the company’s assets in a compelling, evidence‑based manner.
* Collaborate cross‑functionally with Marketing, Regulatory, Drug Safety, Market Access, and R&D.
* Identify knowledge gaps among HCPs and support non‑promotional scientific presentations.
* Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders while ensuring full compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry standards.
* Respond to unsolicited medical information requests in a timely and balanced manner.


Qualifications & Experience

* Advanced scientific or medical degree (PharmD, PhD, MD or equivalent).
* 8+ years of experience in a Medical Science Liaison, Scientific Affairs, or similar field‑based Medical Affairs role; rare disease experience strongly preferred.
* Strong scientific acumen and excellent communication skills, capable of engaging diverse medical audiences.
* Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
* Solid understanding of the German healthcare landscape, reimbursement pathways, and evolving medical trends.
* Experience supporting clinical trials and interacting with investigators is an advantage.
* Ability to work autonomously, build trusted scientific relationships, and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
