Our client, a leading international industrial company, is looking for a technically skilled and entrepreneurial Automation / Business Development Engineer to strengthen their European engineering and customer solutions team within the automotive sector. The role combines technical project leadership, process development, and customer management — an ideal fit for an engineer with both a hands-on and strategic mindset who enjoys connecting technology with business value. Main responsibilities Lead and coordinate technical projects from concept through implementation, working closely with customers, suppliers, and automation integrators. Design and develop application processes for automation and production line solutions used in industrial and automotive environments. Serve as a technical interface between engineering, production, and business stakeholders, ensuring smooth process integration and optimization. Work directly with line managers and process engineers to identify efficiency improvements and implement practical solutions. Manage relationships with suppliers and technical partners during prototype and serial production phases. Support technical benchmarking and product development discussions, providing insights to internal and external teams. Deliver technical presentations and trainings to customers and internal colleagues when needed. Requirements Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field. Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in product development, process engineering, automation, or production environments – ideally in the automotive industry. Experience managing multiple technical stakeholders (customers, suppliers, integrators). Knowledge of automation systems, production processes, and CAD tools ; experience with SPS / robot programming is a strong advantage. Entrepreneurial, business development-oriented mindset with strong technical curiosity. Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a customer-centric approach. Fluent in English, and basic German skills required.
