About This Role
Strava is the app for active people. With over 150 million athletes in more than 185 countries, it’s more than tracking workouts—it’s where connection, motivation, and personal bests thrive. No matter your activity, gear, or goals, Strava’s got you covered. Find your crew, crush your milestones, and keep moving forward.
Our mission is simple: to motivate people to live their best active lives. We believe in the power of movement to connect and drive people forward.
You are a savvy, grassroots marketer who is passionate about community building and engagement. You have existing strong relationships within the running or cycling communities across Germany and are known as a social connector. You are a self-starter capable of driving projects independently while working closely with the UK & DE Partner Lead. You are excited to lead the growth of Strava across Germany.
We follow a flexible hybrid model that generally involves around half your time on-site in our Berlin office & community — roughly three days per week.
What You’ll Do:
1. Acquire and retain partners (world-class creators, community clubs & event organizers), both digitally & IRL, across the DACH region.
2. Collaborate with key athletes, creators, community clubs & event organizers to help them maximize Strava’s products and drive Community Partnerships OKRs (AKA get them on Strava)!
3. Create, innovate, and execute initiatives with creators, community clubs, and event organizers to deepen product adoption and platform affiliation.
4. Scale, measure, and report on the impact of these partnerships; communicate metrics and connect them to broader business trends and initiatives. Use data to improve results continually.
5. Contribute to local DACH insights for the Global Team. Lead monthly reports on trends, events, key clubs, influencers, and opportunities.
6. Champion inclusive practices supporting a broader range of creators and communities on Strava and industry-wide. Engage in ongoing learning and apply insights to build a more welcoming platform.
7. Support the development of Strava’s B2B Content Platform — from German localization to conception, execution, and maintenance.
8. From strategy to execution, produce engaging content for Germany Strava Club and Germany Newsletter to retain Community Partners.
9. Collaborate on ad-hoc Global Projects, building internal connections and collaborating across teams.
10. Travel and attend events throughout the region.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
* +5 years experience in Sport marketing, PR, or sales
* Proficient in German and English (spoken, written, and read), with a deep understanding of German cultural nuances
* Extensive relationships with Creators, Clubs, or Events in running or cycling across Germany
* Ability to recognize and connect with emerging creators, clubs, and event organizers, staying ahead of trends
* Regularly attend local community run or ride events to build relationships
* Proficient with community monitoring software (Social Listening, Influencer Measurement tools) and platforms (Eventbrite, Slack, Discord, Telegram)
* Ability to articulate community partner feedback to internal stakeholders
* Experience using data and analytics to support initiatives — tracking, analyzing, and communicating key metrics and trends
* Knowledge of social media platforms and content creation trends
* Deep passion for Strava and athlete health and wellness; understanding the landscape and the importance of quality content
* Project management experience, handling multiple cross-functional projects on deadlines
* Flexibility to travel regularly within Germany & wider DACH region
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* Experience developing creative partner activations and community marketing campaigns with cross-functional teams
* Strategic thinking about complex issues, leading to actionable recommendations
