The Role
As Development Manager, you will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and developing new data center sites across Germany. You’ll lead projects end-to-end—from land acquisition and technical feasibility to permitting, stakeholder management, and handover to construction.
You will shape project strategy, liaise with local authorities, negotiate with landowners, and ensure projects progress smoothly through all regulatory and planning stages.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify, screen, and secure land opportunities for new data center developments.
* Conduct feasibility studies including grid access, zoning, environmental constraints, and technical requirements.
* Lead permitting processes and coordinate with municipalities, planning authorities, and consultants.
* Engage with landowners, utilities, grid operators, and regulatory bodies.
* Develop business cases, project timelines, budgets, and risk assessments.
* Manage internal and external stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
* Ensure seamless handover to construction and delivery teams.
Requirements
* Proven experience in project development—preferably in data centers, energy infrastructure, industrial real estate, or hyperscale projects.
* Strong understanding of German permitting, planning law, or land development processes.
* Ability to work with municipalities, grid operators (TSOs/DSOs), and regulatory bodies.
* Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
* Fluency in German and English (essential).
* Willingness to travel across Germany as required.
