Master Thesis in Age-Related Macular Degeneration Cell Culture & Animal Experiments Our research team in the Experimental and Translational Ophthalmology Department at the University Medical Center of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz has long been dedicated to investigating the pathogenic mechanisms of retinal diseases, with a particular focus on elucidating the underlying pathology of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and developing innovative diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for clinical application. Our laboratory is equipped with comprehensive cell culture and biochemical analysis facilities and also has the infrastructure required to conduct animal experiments. We are now looking for motivated Master students to join our international team and support our research efforts. Evaluate potential therapeutic targets for wet and dry AMD Investigate molecular pathways involved in cell injury and cytoprotective mechanisms Assist in conducting animal experiments Participate in general management of the lab Bachelor´s degree in Life Sciences successfully completed Active enrollment in a Master class in Life Sciences Proficient in English Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and within a team Basic experience or strong interest in cell culture and molecular assays Comprehensive training and supervision An international team of dedicated scientists Access to state-of-the-art facilities for cell culture, metabolic analysis, proteomics, and immunoblotting Starting date: Immediately
