Internship - Innovation & Project Management (Technology Analysis and Advanced Development)

The Innovation Department drives new product ideas from initial research on the state of the art and market assessments, through concept development and advanced development, to market-ready innovations. Our focus is on the growth areas of decarbonization, electrification, and digitalization.
Our team consists of technical experts in product development and project management. We evaluate technological trends, impulses, and maturity levels of technical developments to secure Voith’s position as a technology leader for the future.
Your Responsibilities
1. Conduct research on the current state of science for innovative future technologies and prepare the collected information appropriately.
2. Support the assessment of the technological and commercial potential of ideas and evaluate the technology readiness level.
3. Independently handle tasks within (pre-)development projects, e.g., concept creation, data analysis, or basic research.
4. Align company competencies with market needs.
5. Ensure scientific documentation and knowledge retention for current projects.
6. Support the team in advancing current development methods through the use of AI tools and modern programming languages (e.g., Python).
Your Profile
7. You are currently enrolled in a university program in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Technology, Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field and are looking for a mandatory internship (optionally combined with a voluntary internship).
8. You already have initial experience and knowledge in methodical product development, innovation management, or technology analysis.
9. Experience with AI tools (e.g., MS Copilot) and programming skills (e.g., Python) is an advantage.
10. Excellent German and English skills, both written and spoken.
11. Strong communication skills, team spirit, commitment, and flexibility.
12. Structured and independent way of working.
