About the Team
The Group Tax Team is responsible for all tax matters, including JD corporate tax, trade tax and VAT across the Unzer Group – comprising 15 entities in 4 countries. The team tackles cross‑border inter‑company transfer pricing and related implications. The role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
What your work will look like
* Take responsibility for the group’s tax position in Germany and across Europe.
* Build and manage the Tax team, prioritising projects and tasks, and ensure Unzer’s tax liabilities are accurately calculated and booked.
* Own and enhance the current inter‑company charging model.
* Proactively build an open dialogue with key external tax stakeholders (DEU, LUX, DKK, AUT), ensure compliance with local legislation, and identify opportunities to drive value across the group’s давор transactions.
* Drive tax projects independently.
* Help select and coordinate the external tax advisory.
* Simplify and implement state‑of‑the‑art processes and tools within the tax organisation toырыпв support the group’s growth ambitions.
What you need to be successful in this role
* Fully qualified tax professional with a passion for defining tax processes and building teams rather than maintaining an existing setup.
* Experience in a scale‑up company as a key tax figure (preferably in fintech or a similarly regulated company) and with a top‑tier tax practice focused on European taxation and the financial services domain.
Ability to manage tax authority relationships in multiple jurisdictions and comfortable working bilingual in English and German.
* Well‑versed in IFRS, HGB and adaptable to additional local jurisdictions if required.
* Demonstrated record of accomplishments, solution‑oriented mindset and a can‑do attitude, willing to go the extra mile.
* Glass‑half‑full attitude, able to handle a high workload while focusing on larger goals over less‑ideal processes.
Nice to have
* Experience in a PE‑controlled environment.
* Direct exposure to regulators and an understanding of their operations.
* Experience with M&A.
