The purpose of Nutreco Exploration is to create value in two main areas: Phytotechnology and Microtechnology. We build capabilities to develop proprietary products that improve animal health and performance worldwide.
Our team works on discovering, creating, and producing ultra-specialties using plants and bacteria. This is done through a model of connectivity, empowerment, and partnership engaging both local business units and global teams.
We focus on novel crops with untapped potential for use in animal feed. Our Domestication team collaborates closely with Discovery to determine the best accessions for addressing specific animal issues and the optimal cultivation approach for our plants.
Job Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to lead scientific discovery and drive programs to identify novel plant species with potential for developing phyto-complexes. You will establish innovative analytical methodologies for characterizing complex bioactive compounds and design laboratory experiments to evaluate the efficacy and safety of plant-derived PhytoComplexes.
You will work closely with subject-matter experts across animal science, chemistry, marketing, and regulatory affairs to translate your discoveries into market-ready solutions. Your expertise will be essential in providing guidance to team members on botany topics and fostering a positive work environment.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have a PhD in Botany, Phytochemistry, Ethnobotany or a related field. Proven research excellence with publications in peer-reviewed journals and laboratory leadership experience are required. You should have advanced proficiency with analytical techniques including chromatography and mass spectrometry.
Strong management experience and passion for translating fundamental science into real-world impact are also necessary. Experience with fieldwork and plant specimen collection is an advantage.
