VAT and Accounting Specialist (m/f/d)

* Value Added Tax (VAT)
o Analyze and evaluate complex VAT issues across multiple jurisdictions
o Coordinate and monitor timely VAT filings throughout Europe
o Conduct regular reconciliations of German VAT accounts
o Prepare monthly VAT advance returns and annual VAT declarations for Germany
o Submit monthly reports on intra-community deliveries and quarterly reports on intra-community services for Germany
o Compile and submit monthly trade statistics
o Assist colleagues with complex accounting and special cases
o Manage input tax refund procedures for the Japanese parent company
* Withholding Tax (WHT)
o Assess WHT matters and apply for exemption certificates related to dividends, licenses, and artistic performances in Germany
o Cost Allocations
o Coordinate and execute cross-departmental and international cost allocations and recharges, including trade fair costs, scholarships, promotion support, travel expenses, repairs, etc.
* Additional Duties
o Support quarterly, semi-annual, and annual closing
o Participate in tax, customs and other audits (including internal control systems with PWC)
o Collaborate on developing and implementing process improvements and workflow adjustments
o Take on special projects and tasks as assigned
* Proven experience in VAT and WHT management, preferably within a multinational environment
* Strong knowledge of German tax regulations and European VAT legislation
* Solid accounting skills, including reconciliation and master data management
* Competence to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage deadlines effectively
* Detail-oriented style of working paired with good organizational and communication know-how
* Fluency in German and xkxcfiw English is preferred
* Experience in working with SAP S4/HANA is a plus
* Confident handling of the MS Office package, especially MS Excel
