We are looking for a Requirements and Verification Systems Engineer (m/w/d) with a background in aerospace engineering to support our team in requirements management and verification for advanced deployable space structures. This role at Large Space Structures (LSS) is a multidisciplinary systems engineering position combining technical and coordination responsibilities across ongoing space projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing system requirements, supporting design activities, and ensuring coherent verification strategies across the project lifecycle. The position requires close collaboration with design, analysis, systems engineering, quality assurance, management, manufacturing, and test teams, as well as interaction with customers and suppliers. Perform requirements flow-down to internal engineering teams, subcontractors and suppliers. Support engineering teams by translating system requirements into clear and implementable technical specifications. Influence new product development through structured and data-driven requirements analysis. Support the definition of project scope, system boundaries and technical assumptions together with internal stakeholders. Support Business Development activities through the review and analysis of system-level requirements for incoming projects and proposals. Work closely with the different engineering disciplines to support concept generation, technical trade-offs and requirement compliance assessments. Maintain the Verification Control Documents (VCD) and support the preparation and maintenance of Verification Plans and verification matrices. Track and maintain the verification status of system requirements across the project lifecycle. Ensure proper configuration management and change control of requirements and system documentation. Coordinate technical impact assessments across disciplines and support the preparation of inputs for Change Control Boards (CCB). Estimate engineering effort related to requirement changes or technical modifications and support project management in evaluating cost and schedule impacts. Support project teams during design reviews, verification campaigns and qualification activities. Produce clear technical documentation and verification evidence tailored to project, customer and programmatic needs. Requirements Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related discipline. 5+ years of experience in requirements engineering, verification engineering or systems engineering in complex technical projects. Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken); German is beneficial but not mandatory. Strong collaboration skills and ability to interface effectively with multidisciplinary teams and international partners. Ability to manage priorities and work effectively under tight project schedules. Nice To have Familiarity with space projects and ESA / ECSS standards. Knowledge of requirements management tools (e.g., Formal background in Systems Engineering (e.g., Previous experience in mechanical or structural design engineering in aerospace projects. Mechanical engineering of spacecraft hardware, including structural design or mechanical systems development. Thermal engineering and spacecraft thermal control or thermal analysis. Engineering roles involving design, analysis, integration or testing of aerospace hardware within the European space industry.
