Overall Job Purpose:
The MSL is responsible for Medical Affairs in Germany for a treatment in Ophthalmology in the post launch phase and which may involve activities in the pre-launch phase of new products in the future. The MSL works closely with the Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) in Germany and follows the Brand Strategy. The MSL organizes advisory boards on national level and is delivering abstracts at local congresses, publications and presentations in collaboration with KOLs. The MSL is the Medical expert on the product content and provides medical scientific education to HCPs and colleagues in the field by presentations and training. The MSL provides medical content and briefing for KOLs at congresses. The MSL works closely with the Marketing & Sales by providing medical content and strategic insights to Marketing materials and projects, together with a strong sense of compliance with the pharmaceutical Industry codes.
Major tasks & responsibilities (70% field):
Execution of the Medical strategy plan at country level:
* Mapping of experts on the disease and KOL insights on the product
* Develop links with and support national networks in the therapeutic area
* In collaboration with Market Access, ensure product Access in International and local guidelines
* Organizing local Advisory Boards (content, objectives, speakers, attendees, contracting)
* Local publications and congress posters within strategy of the product
* First medical HCP contact at congresses and symposia,
* Content input, providing medical slide decks, briefing KOLs for congress and symposium presentations, within brand strategy
* Medical information on requests to HCPs and medical Presentations to HCPs within Brand strategy
* Handling Investigator-Initiated trials (IIT): Internal approval and contracting
* Approval of contracts for external (consultancy/speaker) activities with HCPs
* Develop medical training decks and give medical training for commercial colleagues in the field on disease and product + testing knowledge?
* Medical scientific and strategic input on Marketing projects and materials in collaboration with the EU Marketing & Sales Manager
* Ensure all Medical and Marketing projects, materials and presentations are compliant to pharmaceutical codes.
Education Qualifications
* (Bio) medical (scientific) academic degree
* Training in Pharmaceutical Compliance rules
* Presentation and training skills
Work experience
* Minimum of five years working experience in Pharmaceutical Industry
* Minimum of two years of Medical Affairs experience
* Operational experience in pre-launch and launch activities
* Experience in Ophthalmology preferred
