Your new role
As Director, CDC, you are accountable for the strategic direction, performance and development of the Clinical Development Centre, ensuring delivery of high‑quality clinical trials aligned with global Research & Development objectives.
1. Define and implement the CDC Germany strategy and organisational plans in line with global drug development priorities
2. Own overall portfolio performance, productivity, KPIs, budget oversight and risk management across the CDC
3. Lead, develop and inspire the CDC Germany leadership teams, driving talent development, succession planning and engagement
4. Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships and represent Novo Nordisk with key partners and authorities
5. Ensure compliant, inspection‑ready execution of clinical trials in accordance with ICH‑GCP and regulatory requirements
Your new department
The Clinical Development Centres (CDCs) are a core part of Novo Nordisk’s Global Trial Portfolio organisation. The CDCs are responsible for delivering clinicaltrials locally, working closely with global project teams, l Medical & Regulatory (M&R), regional organisations and external stakeholders. The CDC plays a critical role in translating global clinical strategies into high‑quality execution, ultimately bringing innovative treatments to patients faster.
Your skills and qualifications
To succeed in this role, you bring strong operational and scientific expertise, proven leadership experience and a strategic mindset.
6. Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred
7. Minimum 10 years of experience in clinical research, including senior strategic leadership roles.
8. Deep expertise in clinical trial execution, monitoring, site management, regulatory compliance and clinical quality
9. Demonstrated ability to lead complex organisations and manage senior leaders in a global matrix environment
10. Excellent communication, stakeholder management and change‑leadership skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity
11. Full fluency in English. German fluency is highly valued.
