About Match Medicines
Match Medicines is an emerging biotech company developing off-the-shelf cell therapies targeting pathogenic T cells in autoimmune and immune-mediated diseases. Our platform integrates T cell manufacturing, AI-driven binder design, and modular CAR assembly to create next-generation targeted immunotherapies.
Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated
Research Associate
to support our preclinical and process-development activities. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working in a cell culture, molecular biology, or immunology laboratory and is excited to contribute to a novel therapeutic approach with high translational impact.
Key Responsibilities
Cell Therapy R&D
* Develop protocols for and perform primary human T cell isolation, activation, culture, expansion, and cryopreservation.
* Execute gene editing workflows (CRISPR/Cas9 delivery, mRNA transfection, electroporation).
* Assist in developing and optimizing allogeneic cell manufacturing protocols.
Assay Development & Characterization
* Support flow cytometry panels for phenotype, activation, and CAR expression analysis.
* Conduct molecular assays (PCR, qPCR, sequencing preparation).
* Perform in vitro functional assays (cytotoxicity, proliferation, cytokine release).
Process & Quality
* Follow established SOPs and contribute to drafting new ones.
* Maintain high-quality documentation in ELNs and internal databases.
* Ensure compliance with biosafety, quality, and pre-GMP laboratory practices.
Cross-functional Collaboration
* Work closely with our Partners on early industrialization of manufacturing workflows.
* Coordinate experiments with collaborators
Required Qualifications
* Completed vocational training as
MTA, BTA, CTA, TA
, or equivalent laboratory technician certification or Bachelor's or Master's degree in
Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Immunology, Biochemistry
, or related field.
* Practical experience with mammalian cell culture (preferably T cells).
* Hands-on skills in molecular biology methods (PCR, cloning, RNA work).
* Ability to perform flow cytometry or willingness to learn rapidly.
* Strong attention to detail, good documentation practices, and team orientation.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with CRISPR, gene editing, or mRNA transfection.
* Experience in cell therapy, ATMP development, or immunotherapy research.
* Knowledge of FACS, sorting technologies, or cell purification workflows.
* Familiarity with AI/ML-driven sequence design (optional but a plus).
* Exposure to GMP or pre-GMP environments.
What We Offer
* Opportunity to work on a breakthrough therapeutic platform with real patient impact.
* A dynamic, mission-driven early-stage biotech environment.
* Close mentorship and skill development from experienced industry and academic leaders.
* Access to cutting-edge instrumentation and co-development programs
