Expert in German Labor Law
As a specialist in German labor law, you will be responsible for ensuring our HR policies and workplace practices are fully compliant with national regulations. This role plays a key part in fostering constructive relationships with employee representatives and supporting strategic workforce decisions.
Key Responsibilities
* Advise HR and leadership on all aspects of labor law with a focus on German labor law.
* Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, collective bargaining agreements, and internal policies.
* Monitor and interpret changes in labor legislation, taking action as necessary.
Works Council & Union Relations
* Serve as a liaison between the company and works councils/unions.
* Support negotiations and consultations on co-determination matters.
* Draft and review works agreements.
Contract & Policy Management
* Draft, review, and update employment contracts and HR policies.
* Ensure documentation complies with the Written Evidence Act (Nachweisgesetz).
Dispute Resolution & Risk Management
* Support internal investigations and conflict resolution.
* Represent the company in labor court proceedings when necessary.
Training & Awareness
* Conduct internal training sessions on individual and collective labor law topics.
* Promote awareness on rights and obligations for both sides, employees and employer.
Mandatory qualifications include a Master's degree in Law (LL.M. or equivalent) with specialization in German labor law, at least 10 years of experience in employment law, preferably in a corporate or industrial setting, proven experience working with works councils and unions, strong understanding of collective labor law, co-determination rights, and employment contract law, excellent communication skills, negotiation skills, analytical thinking, discretion & integrity, collaboration, and fluency in German and English.
