Elusav Recruitment have an excellent opportunity for a Design Manager for a leading European engineering contractor based on a data centre project in Frankfurt. The position will be responsible for all Design & Project Coordination activities on the data centre projects from inception through to completion. Contractor are delivering all scopes on the project - CSA, MEP.

Responsibilities:
* Schedule and lead project design meetings as required
* Liaising with clients, consultants and project stakeholders as required on all design issues
* Assist in developing Design Delivery Schedule along with client, Project Manager, Design team and consultants.
* Negotiate and procure the design scope-of-work, deliverables and design schedule with consulting firms from initial tender inquiry to appointment and ensure design is prioritized according to project requirements.
* Closely track design deliverables to ensure project milestones are met and review completed design is accurate and precise, and provide continuous input to optimize design
* Implement and control design change management system and Track and manage internal and external design and cost issues.
* Implement recovery strategy if slippage is detected.
* Collaborate on new design issues/changes and research projects with team.
* Implement, track and manage project design trackers including permits, building control, RFI's, technical submittals.
* Manage design document control.
* Participate in departmental strategic planning.
Requirements:
* Electrical or Mechanical engineering background preferred. (Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial engineering preferred but Architectural / Structural / Civil could be acceptable).
* Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in the Construction industry.
* Solid experience required coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
* Project management experience across all design phases (design fees time / cost management).
* Proven experience managing small teams.
* Experience working on a BIM environment.
* Data centre/Industrial projects experience preferred but not essential (Oil & Gas acceptable).
* Main contractor experience preferred but design/engineering office background acceptable.
