Hauptaufgaben As a Supply Technician at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, the incumbent provides supply and procurement support to all elements within the operating room unit. Daily coordination occurs with the Logistics Division, nursing staff, warehouse customer support, inventory management, and vendor representatives. Duties include managing supplies and equipment, monitoring medical and non-medical systems, performing quality control actions, and planning, purchasing, storing, and issuing specialized medical and administrative supplies. The role requires solid knowledge of procurement methods, technical medical equipment, the commercial market, and technical English/German. The Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) system is used to place orders, track requisitions, distribute items, and prepare detailed reports on overages, shortages, damages, and expiration dates. Databases are maintained and updated, specialized reports generated, and logistical data reviewed for accuracy. The technician ensures recurring demand items are incorporated into the PYXIS system and that economical inventory levels are maintained. Responsibilities include adjusting stock levels, adding new items, and reviewing changes in demand, delivery schedules, and customer patterns. The incumbent determines required quantities, provides guidance on backup stocks, and ensures proper storage conditions such as refrigeration or freezing. Records are maintained for recalls, suspensions, and disposition of medical material, while expired, damaged, or hazardous items are promptly removed and disposed of properly. The technician also advises customers on consumption rates and overall logistical support to ensure satisfaction and continuity of operations. Additional duties include initiating and following up on work orders with Medical Maintenance and Facilities Management to ensure timely completion of required services. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifikationsanforderungen E&T Level I: 2 years of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 1 year of experience as defined in B below. Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of creditable experience as described in A below. E&T Level II: 1 year of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 1 year of experience as defined in B below. E&T Level III and above: No additional experience required. Current employees who have served one year in the same or similar occupation are qualified for the next higher grade. Experience A: Included clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events or as a cashier, etc. Experience B: Experience in the same or similar line of work as the job for which considered.
