A Snapshot of Your Day Join our specialized team of metallurgical experts and maximize your extensive knowledge of melting processes for steel, aluminum, titanium, and high-alloyed materials! You will work closely with suppliers to ensure optimal manufacturing practices, guiding them through process-related challenges to achieve the highest quality and performance standards. Imagine being a critical player in enhancing our melting techniques and solidification processes while contributing to the success of our global supply quality network!
How You’ll Make an Impact
12. Act as the quality partner for the Raw Materials Global Commodity Manager, developing procurement strategies and driving standards for new material-related technology.
13. Improve steel making and raw material knowledge within the SE global supply quality network by leading a community of Supply Quality Engineers for training and knowledge sharing.
14. Take charge of cross-functional teams for Product and Process Qualification (PPQ) on raw material commodity parts, supervising project breakthroughs and resources.
15. Provide suppliers with primary technical advice on melting and metallurgical processes for various materials, ensuring adherence to standard processes.
16. Stay updated on industry trends and new technologies in melting processes and materials science to drive continuous improvement.
What You Bring
17. Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering, materials science or a similar discipline. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered. An advanced degree is preferred.
18. At least 10 years’ professional experience in melting processes and metallurgy, specifically with steels, aluminum, titanium, and high-alloyed materials.
19. Deep understanding of melting techniques (, vacuum melting, induction melting, arc melting, etc.), solidification processes, and material properties.
20. Knowledge of advanced melting technologies, such as electron beam melting (EBM) or plasma melting, and emerging technologies in the field of metallurgy.
21. Familiarity with advanced alloys, including nickel-based superalloys, titanium alloys, aluminum, and stainless steels used in the fabrication of Power Generation Products.
22. Experience leading people, projects and managing virtual cross-functional teams in an international environment. You are a self-starter, determined, and self-reliant. Your organizational, strategic, analytical thinking, leadership skills, and intercultural expertise complete your profile.
