Senior Legal Counsel
Location: Munich (Hybrid)
Our client is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join its German Legal Department. This is a key legal role supporting one of the company’s main business units and collaborating with various internal departments. Reporting to the Head of Legal and Compliance Germany, this role combines legal expertise with strategic business partnership.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a strategic legal advisor to business leadership and cross-functional teams, aligning legal guidance with business goals.
Draft, review, and negotiate various types of commercial contracts, including agreements related to distribution, logistics, and collaborations.
Proactively identify and mitigate legal and compliance risks.
Advise on promotional and non-promotional activities, ensuring alignment with applicable healthcare regulations.
Deliver training sessions on legal topics, such as healthcare compliance, pharmaceutical regulations, competition law, and internal conduct policies.
Support local implementation of international legal strategies and compliance frameworks.
Contribute to dispute resolution and litigation matters when needed.
Requirements:
Fully qualified German lawyer (1st and 2nd State Examinations).
Significant legal experience, ideally gained in-house within the life sciences/pharmaceutical sector or in a law firm advising clients in this area.
Fluency in German and English.
In-depth understanding of healthcare, pharmaceutical law, and relevant compliance requirements.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proactive, solution-focused mindset with sound business judgement.
Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, multinational environment.
